Arrived in Xiang Sha Wan this morning about 10am. Wow, there's cold and then there is cold. And wind. Yikes. I walked around the building and was concerned for my safety. I did get one nice image, however. From the bluff overlooking the Yellow River. The frozen Yellow River.
Lunch was, as usual, an amazing experience. The Chinese excel at hosting.
As I was eating lunch, a hanging scroll of calligraphy caught my eye. The low angle of the sun is going to offer lots of opportunities for images like this. I'm looking forward to it.
We're off to install the exhibition prints this afternoon. Our first look at the yurt known as the Xiang Sha Wan Art Palace. I learned today it has a dirt floor. I just love that! Art in a yurt with a dirt floor. This ain't the New York gallery scene, that's for sure.
All three pictures say so much about where you are. Thank you for including them in your post. Sandwich bread with steamed buns???!! I'm very happy to know that you are safely on the ground at your final destination. Looking forward to pictures of the palace!!

I am following this with bated breath, especially since I have heard nothing from Chris (Rauschenberg) since he boarded his plane a couple of days ago. Is he there? Would love to see a group photo of all of you, at some point. We are all so excited about this adventure!

Thanks, Brooks! You are my hero!
Regards to the group, and keep the posts coming. You now have an ever-enlarging audience out here in Portland...
Keep warm, Janet
